My 7th and 8th grade classes are learning about inquiry. What better way to learn than to try and figure out a problem that seems impossible! 7th grade students were challenged to get 12 nails to balance on the head of one nail and my 8th graders mission was to cut an index card to fit around their body. It was a lot of fun watching them try out different ideas to try and solve the problem.

Today the moment most of my students had been waiting for since the first day of school finally happened. In order to investigate body systems, we dissected a leopard frog. Our specimens this year held all kinds of exciting surprises! Some had enlarged hearts, stomachs full of crickets, grasshoppers, or beetles, and we even discovered some that had structures that appeared to be tumors. It was an excellent day of dissecting! |
