Ringneck Snakes - Tommy S. has brought in two of these creatures for us to enjoy. They are really young and since we did not have adequate light and housing for them, we decided to have them live with our gecko, Miss Priss. So far, sharing the space is working out for both species. Miss Priss has nipped at them, but they pretty well stay out of her way. They love to crawl around in her log and one of them has even shed his skin.
Black Rat Snakes - Jake G., one of my former students, brought me 5 snake eggs that he had found to keep in the classroom. Two weeks later, they started to hatch out. Rose went home with Jenna C. and one went with Kaitlyn B. to be released at her grandma's house. The last three Celia, Ivy, and Dopey are still in our room. We feed them "pinkies" (baby mice) once a week.
Walking Sticks - Breahna D. brought in Princess Houdini and Jeremy S. brought in 3 other walking sticks. Students researched the habitat and food needed, but we have been unsuccessful at keeping these alive.
Red-Eared Slider - Alex C. has brought in his pet turtle Slider Jr. He loves to swim around and eat earthworms and turtle food.
Guinea Pigs - We now have Maxine and Ruby courtesy of JaQuawan D. They love to eat veggies and squeal at each other.
